What have you been wearing on stage?

I mainly just wear what I’m most comfortable in, usually loose fitting and dark colors, but I’m trying to get out of that habit a bit. I love extreme proportions, big fan of flared pants and chunky shoes, looking a bit like a cartoon character.

I don’t necessarily think people should be staring up at the DJ in a club, but it is a fun opportunity to show off friends’ designs or anything I might not wear daily. And of course my signature thing now is a cap with headlights—people think it’s just a gimmick but it’s genuinely so useful for DJing sometimes, it can be dark up there!

Not usually but if I had a stylist it’d be Elena Fortune, he makes those bunny hats you see at every show, and the super wide leg raver-type pants I wear a lot.

Not really, those pants Elena made me were 1/1 (for now) though, and Item Label and I sold a version of my light cap with velcro patches earlier this year as merch, I think they’re all gone now sadly.

Where do you find stage clothes? Any fav shops?

I got the first iteration of my light cap at a thrift store in Chicago in 2019 with Laura Les. Also been wearing this dress shirt a lot that I bought when me and Petal Supply got to play in Tokyo earlier this year, it says “Red Cap Girl” with a picture of a girl with a red cap saying “I want to do something but I don’t know what I want to do. I’m so ready for this…?” and I just feel the same way sometimes. The brand is called Red Cap Girl I assume. Also just love my friends’ merch of course, Andrewgoestohell’s hand-printed “World’s Smartest Dumbass” button down is in heavy rotation, Club Eat’s Staff tee, or all the shirts my label PC Music keeps sending me lol

Where does your sense of style come from? Any special sources of inspiration?

I’m sure people have done it before me but my idea for the light cap came from seeing Pig play in complete darkness holding a flashlight at SOPHIE’s show at Elsewhere around that time. Was a huge vibe. Otherwise I just follow the world’s greatest tastemaker GRRL on Twitter to decide my sense of style for me. I've recently also been experimenting with accessorizing the caps I always wear

Kendrick Lamar wore a bunch of brooches on a Dodgers cap at the Grammy's I think last year, I loved that. I shot some photos with Jeiroh Yanga earlier this year, who very sadly passed away quite recently. He gave me a tiara to wear over a cap which was a super cute idea, I'll always hang on to that now.
